Tech Basics
This explains how to implement a simple tech look to your design. This method can be adapted to make interfaces or other trendy things. When trying to achieve the tech look, always stick to thin(much thinner than this example) and straight lines.
Open a document 400px wide and 300px high. Make the background a dark color. Select the Polygonal Marquee Tool and make a shape like the one in the picture. Fill it in with white.
Now make another layer and make something similar. Vary it so it doesn't look completely the same. I tried making it thinner.
Now make another layer and add some more tech shapes. Place them anywhere. I did mine near the top.
Next Create a new layer and add some scanlines. I used the diagonal scanlines. The method for making these can be found in another tutorial on the site. After you make the scanlines, set the opacity to 20%.
Make a new layer and add some more shapes. This time try to make it unique by making it vertical. Finally add whatever you want to finalize it.
