A good way to create advanced shapes is to simply combine basic shapes together. This tutorial aims to show you just that.
Create a new document. Make the background any color. Make sure your foreground color is white. Click on the "Custom Shape Tool" on your tools palette.
New options should appear at the top. At the number of sides enter 6. Click and drag anywhere on your canvas.
A new layer should have automatically appeared on your Layers Palette. Double click this layer and click on the stroke and change the stroke color to black or #000000.
You now have a shape. Right click the layer the shape is on and select "Duplicate Layer". Do this until you have 3 polygons. Arrange them however you like to make something "cool" or "techie". Most advanced designs are made using duplication of basic shapes like this one.
